An artform that has seen a rise in popularity in recent time, Needle Felting (2d Felting) appears to have been invented in around the 1900s, using machines that were originally designed to make batting and insulation from shoddy (shredded woollen garments)…who knew eh?!
Kirsty’s needle felting programme however will be a little less taxing: in this process you will learn to use a variety of equipment and tools and learn about the use of colour and textures all of which are needed to make a simple, yet beautiful, piece of 2d felt art work.
A lovely skill that can be transferred to embellish all sorts of pieces, giving new life to cushions or old sweaters, or jazzing up the old coat that might benefit from a splash of colour.
