Tonight is our next instalment in The Duncairn’s Creative Collective sessions. Forward pushing trad group Lonesome George offer an exciting fusion of traditional tunes and contemporary song-writing that lends a rare immediacy to their sound – best served at a live setting. Led by song-writing duo Joe Campbell-McArdle and Myles McCormack, they’re joined by Stephen Loughran on flute and Dermot Moynagh on bodhran. This alone guarantees an outstanding live show, but there’s more to add to the mix. They will be joined on the night by German folk band Lappalie, a group more likely to be found playing on the streets and stages of northern Germany, singing about love, fear, drink and dreams. Tonight though, we’ll give them a good Duncairn welcome. See you there.
