Carve your own Spatula & Butter Knife
Knife carving, otherwise known as whittling, is one of the most accessible and enjoyable woodcrafts you can experience. During the class participants will use traditional tools to shape green [unseasoned] wood. The beauty of green wood lies in its ability to be shaped easily as it is soft and easily worked with hand tools.
During this workshop, Stephen Ryan from Green Woodwork Ireland will teach you the skills needed to become a traditional knife carver. Each participant will learn axe and knife carving skills to produce their own cooking utensils from locally sourced, freshly cut wood.
This course is suited to all levels including complete beginners. Due to the use of sharp tools during the class, sturdy boots or shoes should be worn.
