Presented by Prison Arts Foundation
The Prison Arts Foundation’s Exhibition… showcases an amazing body of multimedia work created by the men and women currently within the Northern Ireland prison system, as well as those on non-custodial community sentences. Along with showcasing the visual arts, the launch evening will be enhanced by the reading of some of the prisoner’swritings developed through the creative writing programme, with music and light refreshments being served.
Established in 1996, The Prison Arts Foundation Charity was founded to work within the Criminal Justice System to assist the rehabilitation and resettlement of (ex)offenders by engaging them in prosocial, artistic activities: music, ceramics / pottery, visual arts and creative writing, which in turn works to reduce re-offending rates and help build safer communities.
The artwork on display will be available for sale to the general public, and all proceeds will be donated to Victims Support and reinvested back into the programme managed by Prison Arts Foundation.
