We’re incredibly excited to introduce our newest event, ‘Suaimhneas’ which translates as ‘peace, calm, tranquility, rest’. That’s the atmophere we want to create within our exhibition space to encourage relaxation as you listen to some of Ireland’s best new musicians in the chilled folk scene.
On Thursday 20th October, the audience will be limited to 50 people with a complimentary beverage on arrival (no BYO for this one). Soft furnishings, a custom-made set and mood lighting will add to the experience as we create a meditative space to let the music wash over you and help release any stress and tension. We all deserve a break.
The soundtrack to this debut event are Lōwli & Les SalAmandas, featuring spoken word from Colin Hassard. Tickets are free but running very low, so grab yours while you can.
Lōwli is the stage name of Roisin Lowry, a composer, songwriter and performer hailing from Galway. Her music, an enchanting blend of elegant piano arrangements, delicate strings and haunting vocals, has charmed and captivated audiences around the country. Her work bears elements of neoclassical, dark-pop and folk and has been influenced by artists such as Agnes Obel and Olafur Arnalds.
Les SalAmandas, a French/Irish Indie Folk duo from Ballydehob, West Cork, gently sing their stories with soft subtle harmonies and simple acoustic guitar arrangements both in French and English.
Immersed in an active local music scene Julie and Colyne began writing songs together in 2018. Starting their performance career in the summer of 2019 in Levis’ Corner House (Ballydehob), since then Les SalAmandas have performed in many of Ireland's venues, alongside some of Ireland's greatest talents.
Colin Hassard is a poet, writer and spoken word artist from Banbridge, but we don’t hold that against him.
