Wildflower weekend

The Duncairn is inviting you to join an exceptional weekend of free online environmental events for all ages.

The Wildflower Weekend is our opportunity to come together as a community to show we care for the environment and to learn new creative ways to lead greener lives. The mantra of the weekend is recycle/up-cycle/re-use/repair.

In the past two years, the Duncairn Centre for Arts and Culture has been working towards becoming the first green art centre in Belfast. We are committed to lead by example, this is why we have banned single use plastic on our grounds, among other actions aimed at reducing our environmental footprint. We believe that taking care of the environment equals taking care of oneself and of the community in which one lives, but we cannot do it all ourselves. Will you join us in taking care of the environment?

The Wildflower Weekend is supported by The European Network of Cultural Centres (ENCC). The (ENCC) was founded in 1994 to promote dialogue and cooperation between social-oriented cultural centres throughout Europe. It is both a network of direct members and a ‘network of networks’. Today, the ENCC gathers about 5000 cultural organisations in 24 countries, with very diverse structures, practices and audiences. We align on values of cultural equality, active citizenship, intercultural diversity and sustainability. The ENCC is funded by the Creative Europe networks strand of the European Union.
